The Horses

Coda: was rescued from a slaughter auction and brought him home. He is a friendly, good-natured horse, who does well in the round pen.

Creampuff: is an 18 year old quarter horse who is our newest addition. She was used as a hunt horse and has pulled carriages. She has a sweet and friendly disposition.

Danny:  is a bay quarter horse who was surrendered by his owner due to an illness. He is a great round pen horse who loves to play and will eagerly join up with even the newest beginner.

Harlequin(Harley): is a 20 year old draft/paint cross who is privately owned.  The owner donates time on him to the program. He has a perfect disposition for a child or an adult and seems to understand the unique character of each rider.

Marshall: is a retired racetrack thoroughbred who came to us through one of our board members. He is very friendly and enjoys being ridden. Even beginners can handle Marshall.

Marshmallow: came to us with Danny. His gentle nature and his love of being with people makes him the perfect fit for those who are nervous about the horses. He quickly became a favorite of our clients.

Mickey: is a Danish warmblood imported from Denmark. He has been used by a rider attempting to get into the Paralympics. He has been trained all the way up to Grand Prix in dressage. He is very playful and affectionate people.

Sparky: is a Tennessee Walker. He was donated to us by a long time donor who had realized that he was being mistreated and needed a good home. Sparky is unique as he has different color eyes. He is one of the most gentle and loving horses in our barn.

Sugarcube: is the oldest (and shortest) horse on the farm. She used to be a therapy horse that was taken into nursing homes and schools. Since she had to go inside buildings she had to be house trained. Now she is living the easy life being feed treats and being giving lots of attention by all the visitors.

Tucker: was donated to our programs by a friend of the barn owner. He is spotted draft horse and the biggest horse on the farm. He always wants attention from everyone. He will do absolutely anything for cookies.
